Hello everyone, I am a senior technician from a flooring factory who has been working with bamboo in the workshop for over a decade. Every day, I can see piles of green bamboo raw materials, which go through a series of processes and eventually become warm flooring that is spread in thousands of households. I am well aware that when people buy flooring, the most worrying thing is the word 'formaldehyde', and various promotional terms can be overwhelming. Today, I will talk to you from the perspective of the factory. Apart from looking at the inspection report, where else can we start and find a bamboo and wood flooring that truly gives you peace of mind.

To clarify environmental protection, we must start from the source. Our factory prefers to use green bamboo with a short growth cycle, which is not only a renewable resource but also the cornerstone of environmental protection. You may not know, bamboo age is the key. Too tender bamboo, insufficient density; Bamboo that is too old has brittle fibers. We choose bamboo that is three to five years old, during which the fiber bundles are full and the texture is tough. More importantly, bamboo itself contains a substance called "bamboo quinone", which can naturally inhibit bacteria and bacteria, laying a good foundation for the healthy properties of flooring. Good raw materials are like a piece of good jade, and the subsequent processing is to achieve it, not to conceal it. If the quality of the raw materials themselves is poor, more adhesive will be needed to make up for it in the future, and the environmental risk will naturally be high.

With good bamboo, the next step is the core bonding and pressing process, which is the main battlefield for determining formaldehyde content. The vast majority of formaldehyde in bamboo and wood flooring on the market comes from the glue used during lamination. Our factory adopts a high-temperature and high-pressure process, which is not just about sticking bamboo slices together. In a high-temperature and high-pressure environment, glue can penetrate more evenly and thoroughly into every tiny pore of bamboo fibers, achieving maximum bonding area. This means that to achieve the same structural strength, we can use less adhesive. At the same time, the high temperature process itself will also accelerate the volatilization and solidification of free formaldehyde in the glue, which is equivalent to a "detoxification" before leaving the factory. In contrast, low-temperature cold pressing often requires more glue to achieve strength, which naturally poses greater risks.
